Barry Athletic Ladies recently celebrated winning the Mary Thomas Trophy. Many years ago long time member Mary Thomas presented the club with a trophy to be played for by local ladies clubs. The competition has been dormant for a while but has been given a new lease of life, and in June 5 local clubs competed in the day long competitiom. In a very close final it was perhaps that it was written in the stars that Barry Athletic would win the trophy, beating local rivals Romilly. It is hoped that the event will now become a permanent annual feature. The winning Barry Athletic trio were Ros Judd, Rose Weaver & Ceri Allsup.
